Welcome to IEEE SPS-APSIPA Winter School on Machine Intelligence and Signal Processing, December 20-23, 2014
The winter school is designed on the broad topic of machine learning and signal processing. Today, various acquisition devices collect and generate massive amount of data. Processing and analyzing such data is usually beyond our mental capacities. We resort to automated processing and analysis techniques to retrieve information from this data deluge. It is therefore important to understand the state of art approaches in related research areas. The winter school on machine learning and signal processing plans to bring world class academicians and researchers to teach the latest in machine intelligence and signal processing. Such an event to impart machine learning and signal processing education to the students and young professionals have not been organised before. Unlike conferences, where the major focus is on research, the proposed winter school will concentrate on imparting world class education. The winter school will cover various topics on Computer Vision, Statistical Signal Processing, Social Learning, Bio-informatics, Compressed Sensing, Matrix Completion, Biometrics, Big Data, Medical Imaging, Video Processing.
